Citizens from different cities and municipalities in Zamboanga del Norte flocked in Dipolog City Sunset Boulevard to show support for Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan’s candidacy for presidency and vice presidency, respectively, on Tuesday (May 4).
The grand rally, which started at 3PM garnered over 45,000 people in pink shirts and banners, as they wait for VP Robredo and the rest of the team to appear.
During the first hours of the event, the members of ‘Tropang Angat’, including its senatorial slate shared their platforms and advocacies by either a video presentation, and an actual speech campaign for those who are present at the venue.
The senatorial candidates who showed up on the stage include Sen. Risa Hontiveros and Atty. Chel Diokno, while the others were represented by spokespersons.
At around 7PM, VP Robredo finally stood up on stage and talked about her achievements, plans and platforms. She also read some of the participants’ tarpaulins and placards.
Meanwhile, to represent Sen. Pangilinan, who was not around due to a conflict of schedule with a conference in Cebu, his daughter, Franky Pangilinan introduced him in his behalf.
Aside from campaigns, the event was also able to lift arms and feet as it was accompanied by various numbers and presentations by guests and local artists.
The rally ended with a literal band in the sky as it was filled with fireworks, while popular rock-band IMAGO finished the event.
