RSPC '22 launches in full tilt,

MARCH 23, 2022 - Mr. Julius M. Segovia, the keynote speaker of the Regional Schools Press Conference Opening Program delivered his speech virtually.

It’s a breaking buzz in the virtual arena!

Regional Schools Press Conference is back in town, held virtually this year. The event kicked off via Facebook Live on Wednesday, on its official page (Regional Schools Press Conference DepEd ROIX), joined by campus scribes from 8 divisions across the entire region.

Following a formal opening program for the event, Keynote speaker Julius M.

Segovia expressed his gratitude and happiness on how education in the Philippines continued through distance learning such as online learning and modules even amid the pandemic and how the DepEd responded to the needs of the students.

Segovia is a Columnist, Media Consultant, and Former GMA news reporter. Regional Director Ruth Fuentes stated that Segovia initiated a weekly Facebook newscast to his fellow 'Tanzaueno' during the pandemic.

"It's heart whelming that we didn't let the pandemic defeat us. Instead, we used our situation to be more resilient in any challenge that life gave us." Translation of what Segovia said in part of his speech.

He also expressed that Region IX is praiseworthy in conducting an online school event such as RSPC despite the limitations, insufficiency, and challenges brought by the pandemic.

"In this time, people especially students should be more cultivated in the field of journalism to spread legit and trustworthy facts and information to battle the spread of fake news. School Press Conferences are one way to instill the ethics of journalism to students to start young of being true and messenger of the oppressed."
